Pompeii: A "If the Forums Were Real" Story- Chapter 11

Oh, where do we begin?
The rubble or our sins?

We thought it would last forever.
The Winx Club forums were a beautiful place, not because the web design, the minigames, or the articles, but because of the people there. Sweet, weird, crazy, but wonderful people. When others felt down we supported them, we read each others stories and admired their art, we chatted about everyday life and fantasy worlds. We thought it would never end.
We were wrong.
The community, so wonderful, strong and fun, tried to stop it. A petition was organised, people made ways to contact one another, and we desperately hoped the admins would change their minds.
But on April 12th, 2014, the forums were deleted.
Some of us evacuated to Juliec's website, were we could continue the forum in heart, if not reality.
Others made communities on Google+.
Still others ran to other websites.
But the truth was, the community we once loved so much was gone.
Some of us remain. We whisper in our small group of friends, surviving until the end. But it will never be the same big, thriving community ever again.
This is what is left for us, and now all we can do is go back in time and relive the memories long gone.
This is, essentially, Pompeii.

Characters we've met so far:


The Heroine: Joseyposey

Ignore the above statement. I am not a heroine, by far. But I couldn't think of a suiting title. Ah well.
Joseyposey is, obviously, me. She's the main character and the newbie; the klutzy, awkward, weirdo newbie. But she'd do anything for her friends- if she had any! But being new isn't all sadness and being friendless; it's an exiting and fun adventure in a new place with new people. A virtual adventure. So Jo will keep pushing on- and learn a few valuable lessons along the way.


The Grand-Pooh-Bah: Winxer


Winxer is a HUGE Otaku. She's obsessed with anime, video games, and role-playing, among other things. She's a weirdo, but in a positive way. She's silly, fun, creative, and a little bit crazy! Winxer isn't afraid to express herself and treats not only Jo, but everyone in the forum as her friend. With this friendship, Jo will learn how to accept herself and be proud of it.




The Scarlet Codex: Scarlet


Scarlet is, like Winxer, an Otaku. However, she has a more...... serious personality. Of course, she enjoys a laugh and enjoys adventure just as much as Winxer, but Scarlet is more of a tough girl(there are other words to describe it, but for the sake of the younger members and to follow the rules I won't say them  (; ). She has a dark side, although she doesn't show it often and keeps it to herself usually. Scarlet and Winxer have been best friends long before Jo came along. With Winxer and Scarlet by her side, Jo will find many adventures in this little trio.




The Sane, or Maybe-Not-So-Sane One: Ushi

Prologue

Nothingness. That’s all I see.
A white landscape stretches as far as the eye can see. I’m the only one around.
I see a wall stretching up in front of me. It was almost like a blue screen, numbers, letters and symbols flying across the surface. I somehow know that this is the internet, and all these symbols are computer coding.
I walk foreword, my steps, though normal, are silent. I realize I’m not breathing and don’t need to breath. I cannot hear, taste, smell, or feel; only see.
I reach the strange blue wall. Although it’s all computer coding, I can somehow read and understand it. It was Google, and this wall was waiting for me to make a search.
Hesitantly, I reach out to the wall. The symbols change and whirr underneath my fingertips. Curious, I tap the glass-like surface.
The symbols underneath my finger stopped, still. I was typing!
Eager, I type in a search but realize I can’t enter. Frowning, I pull my hand away- and suddenly the wall clears.
No longer computer coding, website links are all that are on the surface of the wall. Each in familiar blue lettering. I tap one link, thinking it will show the website on the wall.
But instead, by body-my avatar, really- begins to dissolve n tiny pixels.
“No!” I shout, frightened, but no sound comes out. The silence suffocates my ears, my body cannot feel, floating in nothingness, the air scentless and tasteless, and now my vision fading away like millions of pixels breaking apart and fading into black.

      I think that will be the only smiley I will like. Can't wait to read more! Also, are you on google+?

The forum closed down today?! Huh.....
We will always have the memories with us, no matter what. They took away our home, but they just CAN NOT take away our memories and friends. (i wonder how we could keep in contact with our OLD friends...The ones that would be online once in a blue moon....
I'll miss them!!
