✿• Chapter 4 •✿
Different destination

The walk was all silent and somehow mystical. No-one dared to speak a word to break the silence. Violet's body was shaking. Not just because of how cold it was, but if she was standing right next to a spirit. Finally, she spoke up.
"Can I just ask a question if you're alright with it?" Violet asked Conor.
"Sure," Conor answered, looking down at Violet.
"Is the whole 'spirit' rumour true?" Violet asked. Conor gave a sigh.
"I'm afraid.. It is," he whispered.
"So, that means you're a spirit?"
"Yes."
"Oh... Okay."
"It's alright if you're not good with it. I can go now if you want."
"Yea.. I mean no, you can stay if you want."
"Are you sure?"
"I don't know!" Violet put her hands on her face and looked down.
"Can't you just make your mind up?" Conor asked.
"No." Violet answered. "It's alright. You can go."
"Maybe you need some time at the park. It's wonderful at night." Conor said, patting Violet on the back.
"The park? Do you guys visit the park or something?" Violet said.
"Yeah, it's like a city at night." Conor said. They crossed the road.
"Conor!" Violet shouted. She saw the lights of a Toyota vehicle coming close by. "Listen, we're going to get ki-"

"Violet? You okay?" Conor asked, holding her in his arms. Violet opened her eyes and blinked a few times.
"I'm alive!" She said.
"Of course you are. You're talking right now," Conor chuckled.
"How did we survive? How?" Violet asked with curiosity.
"Simple," Conor answered. "I am a spirit. And since they're like ghosts, cars just whizz right through them."
"How about me? And if you're a spirit, wouldn't you just go straight through someone if you were hugging them or something?" Violet asked once again.
"Since I'm still partly human, I have the decision whether the thing will go through or not. And when I am touching something or someone, they will do the same choice as me. I made the choice for the car to go through me. And since I was patting you on the back, well you acted like a spirit too," Conor explained.
"I'm just wondering.. How did you become a spirit in the first place?" Violet said, struggling to stand up.
"Well, I live in the future. This is my old self that I'm using right now. The actual me is in the year 2314." Conor said, sitting on the cold stone edge of the fountain.
"What!? That's 300 years later!" Violet said, surprised and confused. "No way. I don't even know we lived in two ages."
"Everyone in this year is a spirit. Everyone in the future year is real. Yes, I said real." Conor said. "But I'm not sure about you. You're about the only person who doesn't do things like a spirit. You seem normal."
"But.. How do I get into the future?" Violet asked. She couldn't think. Did she just lose herself?
"You're already in the future. But I've never seen you around." Conor said.
"So that could mean that I was stuck and left here in this year?" Violet said. "I want to get to the future. I don't just want, I need to."

OMG! That twist was a real shock! I love spirits! But what did Conor mean by,

It's because everyone else that lives in this current year are spirits. But somehow Violet isn't a spirit so she isn't seen in the future year. Thanks Very Happy
