Always - Chapter 5 Empty Chapter 1

Mensaje  Semicolon; Mar Jul 15, 2014 11:28 am

Some say, the two were fated to be together. Him being a winter spirit, her last name being Winters. Whenever the two had been together, it was like magic. They were two separate snowflakes that found each other and became one. This is a story about a somewhat normal teenage girl and a spirit.

~*~

Once upon a time, in a small town called Burgess, there were two spirits. These spirits weren't like you would imagine them, ghastly pale and almost transparent beings that could walk through walls. No. These spirits looked like teenagers. One was a white haired, pale male, wearing a lightly frosted blue sweater, cut off brown tight pants, with a large, hooked staff, clutched loosely in one hand. The other was a black haired, slightly rosy teen, wearing a black, cat ear hat, a black sweater, black pants, black boots, and equally black winter mittens that looked suspiciously like cat paws.

"But Jack, I don't want to do the snow ball fight." The black haired boy whined quietly to the other, who was floating above his head, spinning gracefully in small circles. His voice was slightly deep, a hint of a British accent to his words.

"Oh, come in Heads, don't be a party pooper." The other, Jack, retorted, his voice deep, like hand sized bells, jingling; melodic.

"I don't poop at parties." He responded, with a frown on his face, obviously not getting what the other was trying to say.

"Heady, it's time you loosen up!" Jack said, letting his body close enough to the ground that he could touch, lifting a small pile of snow into his hand before blowing it into his friend's face.

"Jack!"  He cried, moving his hands up to quickly wipe the freezing snow off, a large frown forming.

Jack only chuckled, flying farther ahead of Heady so he couldn't get him back.

Within minutes they reached their destination; the town's park. As soon as they entered, the cheers of small children could be heard.

"Jack Frost!" They cried, running up to the winter spirit, all of them opening their arms to give him a hug.

Lowering himself to the ground, the children enveloped him in a large group hug, large toothy smiles on each small face. "Hey, don't forget Heady." He said, motioning his head over to the other boy, who looked down at the kids quietly.

They quickly moved away from Jack, all of them hugging Heady's legs, just as they had Jack. His face was filled with awe, a small tear appearing in the corner of his right eye. He quickly wiped it away, wrapping his arms around as many of the little rascals as he could.

"It's nice, huh?" Jack asked him, a smile on his face.

"It's incredible. I'm still not used to it." He whispered as the kids let go of him, running off.

The park looked beautiful. The slides were covered in a thin layer of ice, the monkey bars had icicles hanging off them, and the swings were frozen into place. Strategically placed around the park were two foot tall snow walls. The children were prepared. But, then again, they always were.

The kids quickly moved behind them. Little giggles could be heard as they planned. When they became quiet, a snow ball sailed, hitting Jack in the face.

He laughed, quickly reaching down to make a snow ball. But before he could throw it, Heady threw a snow ball at his head. It exploded in his hair, pieces falling into his sweater.

"Everybody for himself." Heady cried, with a mischievous smirk on his face and he quickly knelt down, making another one.

Glaring at his friend, Jack motioned to the kids behind the forts to do as Heady said. "That's right! Everyone for themself!"

Suddenly, snowballs were flying everywhere, someone getting hit every five seconds or so.

Jack, out if sheer joy, decided to hit someone walking down the track in the forest neat the park. His eyes immediately fell on two teenage girls. Moving his arm back, he threw it forward, hitting one of them in the head. He jumped up, cheering.

The girl turned to him, her eyes glaring as she moved the snow out of her auburn hair. Her friend whispered something to her, turning her attention away from Jack. When she looked back, a frown formed on her face. She looked around the park, as if she were looking for someone. "Where did you go?!" She cried, walking a few steps towards the park.

Her friend looked at her in confusion. "Where did who go?" She asked.

"The boy in the blue hoodie. That threw a snowball at my face." She said quietly, looking around again.

"You mean him?" Her friend asked, pointing towards Jack.

"What are you talking about? There's no one there."

"Yes there is. Right there. The boy with the blue hoodie is there with someone wearing all black beside him."

"Asta, there's no one there..." She said quietly, turning back to her friend.

Sighing, she grabbed the auburn haired girl's hand, pulling her to where she had seen the boy.

"Um, Jack, they're coming this way." Heady whispered to Jack urgently, a nervous look on his face.

"D- Did you see? She saw me. Then she didn't..." Jack whispered, his eyes looking at the one girl in confusion.

"Asta, I told you, no one’s he-" The auburn girl started, but was quickly cut off by her friend.

"Hi, I'm Anastasia, and for some reason, Ms. Winters can't see you right now. I'm not crazy, right? You are real, right?" Anastasia asked, looking from one boy to the other.

"I'm Heady, and this is Jack." Heady answered, as Jack was frozen in place, looking at the two in a mixture of surprise and confusion. "And yes, we are real."

'What type of name is Heady?" Anastasia blurted, quickly closing her mouth.

"Um... It's short for Headless Horseman." He said quietly, a blush forming on his face.

"Wait, you mean that guy from Sleepy Hollow? That chops off heads?"

"Asta, who are you talking t-" The other girl tried to ask, but was cut off again.

"Shhh!" She said loudly. "Heady is going to say one of his head chopping stories."

"Actually, I wasn’t." Heady said quietly, looking at Jack for help.

"Heady?" The girl managed to ask.

"Astrid, the Headless Horseman! How can you not see him?' Anastasia asked.

"Because no one is there. Come on, let's go home." Astrid said as she turned, grabbing the sleeve of her friend's jacket as she walked. She made it two steps before a large flurry of snow flew into her face, pushing her backwards.

"Not just yet, Ms. Winters." Jack said, walking so he was standing in front of her. He looked towards Anastasia for a moment, nodding his head in greeting. "I'm Jack Frost."

"The guy from the song?" She asked.

Astrid looked at her in confusion.

"Astrid, you know that one Christmas song. Chestnuts roas-"

"Chestnuts roasting on an open fire. Jack Frost nipping at your nose." She sang quietly, a small smile forming on her rosy face. "But what does that have to do with anything?" Astrid asked.

"Well... Jack-Frost-sort-of might-be-standing-in-front-of-you." Anastasia quickly replied, giving her a 'there's an attractive boy looking at you' smile.

"Asta, you know there's no such thing as Jack Frost." She said quietly, giving her friend a sad look.

Jack Frost looked more than slightly offended. "Excuse me?" He asked. "There's no such thing as me? We'll see about that." A mischievous smirk appeared on his pale features.

First he started off with something small, making a flurry of snowflakes fall only on her. Frowning when he saw no reaction, he flew a foot off the ground, where he could properly see the top of her head.

Astrid felt something cold coming onto her head. Carefully, she lifted her hand up, only to touch something hard and cold. Slowly, she lifted it off her head, gasping slightly.

Inside her hand was a crown made of ice and snow. It was one of the most beautiful things she had ever seen.

"Oh-my-God-Astrid-Jack-Frost-just-made-you-a-crown-you're-his-princess-now!" Anastasia said in a giddy voice, he words coming out in one bug word. "Omg I ship it!"

Jack looked at her in confusion.

"THE SHIP HAS JUST LEFT THE PORT AND IS SAILING!" She exclaimed for all to here. "Ajack... Astack... Jackstrid... No. They don't sound right. Jastrid? Yes, that's it! It's official!"

Astrid looked at her in bewilderment.

"Jastrid," Anastasia whispered. "New OTP."

"Asta, this isn't funny!"

"Jack and Astrid kissing in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G-"

Jack momentarily froze her lips before she could continue. "Excuse me?!"

Astrid turned around like a deer hearing a twig snap. "Oh my Gods..." She whispered, looking exactly at Jack's face.

"Wait, you can see me?" He asked, lowering himself, his bare feet touching the snowy ground.

Astrid nodded, her mouth hanging slightly open.

Jack turned to Heady with a wide grin. "She can see me!" He harshly whispered.

Heady smiled widely to his friend, genuinely happy for him.

"You can see me!" He exclaimed, grabbing each of Astrid's hands in his own, twirling her around, before realising what he was doing. He awkwardly slowed down, letting go of her hands. Not knowing what to do with his own, he brought one up to scratch the back of his neck.

"Are you...?" She started, her voice breaking up slightly. "Are you really Jack Frost?"

"The one and only." He said coolly, acting nonchalant, leaning against his staff.

Astrid glared up at him, punching the Guardian in the shoulder.

“Ow!” He exclaimed, looking at her in confusion.

“That’s what you get for hitting me in the face with a snow ball.” She said. Then she turned to her friend, giving her a small smile. “Come on, let’s go home.”

“But I want to hear his head chopping stories!” Anastasia cried, looking towards the two spirits for help.

“I’m not going to tell you!” Heady cried, throwing his hands into the air in frustration.

Anastasia pouted, walking to Astrid, who was already a few paces away. Before they got too far away from the two, she turned, thrusting her hand up into the air as she waved to them. “Bye!” She called, before hurrying back over to her friend.

“Bye!” The two said quietly, watching as the two teenage girls walked away.
