Chapter 1 Summer Break
"Yeah!" said Sandy. It was early in the morning, about 6:00am. It was the first day of summer break. And so I've gotta get up right away
and have some fun! I get out of bed and look for a totally cute outfit from my closet. I decided to wear black shorts with a pink top.

Then I changed my outfit, and ran to the bathroom for a hair brush. I had breakfast, brushed my teeth, then listened to some awesome
music. Since I only live with my mom right now, it gets kind of boring and lonely in the house. So, I went outside to go on a walk. I thought I should
probably go to the forest I live near, since I haven't been over there in a while. I stopped at Zoey's house to ask if she'd come with me.
I rang the doorbell. "Hi Zoey! It's summer break today!" I said. Can you come on a walk with me to the forest to hang out?" I asked.

"Of course! I'd love to go!" she said, which kind of surprised me. She's not the kind of girl that just loves exercise.
What is she so excited about? I wondered. I went to her room while she got ready.
Since her computer was on, I decided to play some games on it. I was there for like thirty minute. Don't think I didn't get BORED in that time!
Uhhh! It's taking Zoey WAY to long to get ready!

So then, I walked straight to the bathroom to look for her. I looked and saw Zoey texting on her phone. What's with her?! "ZOEY!" I said.
"What the heck are you doing?! You think I should just wait forever for you to get done with your everlasting texting spree?!"

Zoey looked pretty shocked. "Sandy, just calm down. It's only a phone," she said. I grabbed her cell phone and ran outside with it. LOL!
I held up her phone and said, "If you keep texting, I'll leave without you!" "Give me the phone!" said Zoe. So then
she decides to go all crazy on me, and by crazy, I mean chase me everywhere just to get her stupid phone back!

So suddenly, I held her phone right above a huge bush in her front yard. "You wouldn't do that to my phone, right?" she asked.

I dropped her phone right in the bush! Oh my god! She looks so mad! I get up and do what must be done.
RUN AWAY!

End of chapter 1.

Chapter 2 The chase

Now I'm running. Running VERY VERY FAST! Zoey kept chasing me. I had to keep dodging her insane tackles.
She's really fast! I should have known she'd be this way! Suddenly some guy got in my way and I bumped into him.
I ran passed him and yelled "Keep outta my way!" Then he yelled "You ran into me!"

Now Zoey was nearly touching me. I ran back in her house and locked the door!
I was totally out of breath. Running that much can't be good for me. "Sandy!" screamed Zoey. "You have to let me in!"
"Why should I?! You'd kill me!" I said

"It's my house!" Zoey yelled. She kept pounding the door. "Zoey," I said, "Keep doing
that and you're gonna wake up your mom." She stopped hitting the door. "So when can I come in?!" she asked.

"After I get some rest! Just wait a minute!" I sat down and tried to catch my breath. After she had a few minutes
to calm down, I unlocked the door. She came in and gave me a mad look. "So, you want me to get your phone, right?" I asked.
She pointed outside and said 'NOW!" So I went out and started digging through the stupid bush in search of her missing phone.

Luckily, after searching for several minutes, her phone started vibrating. So I found her phone and gave it back.
"Now can we please go walking?" I asked. She thought for a sec then said "No. How can you expect me to wanna go after what you've done?"

I looked at her face. She was still upset. "Alright, I'll just go by myself," I said. So then Zoey started walking back
towards her house. "Zoey, I'm sorry," I apologized. "It's alright," Zoey said, "I'm just glad you got my
phone back. We can go to the woods later, alright? she asked. "Sure, well, bye."
"Bye." After that, I started heading to the woods.

End of chapter 2.

Chapter 3 Sandy meets Tony Walker

Now I'm heading to the woods. It's four streets away, so getting there will take some time.
As I was walking down my street, I saw that boy with blond hair that I ran into sitting on the curb.
He looked kind of upset about something. Hopefully he won't notice me when I go by.
I'd really hate it if he started yelling at me just because I ran into him while he was playing football.

I started going past him, thinking he didn't know I was there. "Hey, it's you!" he said. I stopped and looked back.
He was walking towards me. Gee, I hope he's not mad at me for before. "You're the one that ran into me
while that crazy girl was chasing you," he said

What did he just say?! "She's not crazy! She's my friend! I yelled.
"If she's your friend, why was she chasing you everywhere?" he asked. "Because I threw her phone in a bush!" I answered.
He stared at me for a moment, then started laughing at me. "What's so funny?!" I asked while blushing.

"Why'd you do a stupid thing like that?" he asked, still laughing. "Because I was waiting for her
to get ready to go with me when she was actually spending like thirty minutes just texting!"
"Well, she sure is a brat," he said. Ahh! I was so mad! I scowled at him. "So, what's your name?" he asked.
"I'm Sandra Bach." I said with pride. "Well Sandy, my name's Tony Walker," Tony said as he extended his hand to me.

We shook hands. "It's nice to meet you Tony. By the way, call me Sandra," I said.
"Okay Sandy," Tony said with a smile. "I'll be sure to call you Sandy from now on!" he said
"Why can't you just call me what I ask you to?!" I yelled. I scowled as he looked at me with amusement.
"Well, I'm outta here," I said. "Wait! where are you going?" he asked.

"Wherever I want," I said. "Can I come?" he asked, walking by me. "No," I said."Oh I think you mean yes, right?"
he said with a smile.

"No!" I yelled. He came anyway. "Like I asked, where are you going?" I rolled my eyes. "To the woods," I answered.
"Why are you going there?" he asked. "Because it's the first day of summer break and I finally have
a chance to enjoy myself."

"Sounds like a good idea. Can we explore while we're there?" he asked.
"Sure, maybe. Depends on what I feel like doing," I said with an annoyed tone.

"I bet it's cool in the woods.
I've hardly ever gone in there before," he said with a smile.
I can't believe Zoey wouldn't come! Now I have to be stuck with THIS KID?!
Look what she's gotten "me into!"

"Into what?" Tony asked. "Nothing!" I answered. I can't believe I
started thinking out loud! I should be more careful! I wish that diva of a friend Zoey were here!
Now Tony's staring at me like I'm some kind of freak. "What?" I asked. He looked away
and ignored the question as if I had never asked anything. We were about a street away from the woods now.

"I need I break!" I said. So I sat down on the curb and he sat near me. "So, why weren't you playing
football anymore when I came outside?" I asked, looking at him. "Huh? Because my friend left," he said.
"Oh, who's your friend? And what's he like?" I asked. "His name's Brad Roy. He's alright, I guess." Tony said.

"What's wrong with him?" I asked. "Nothing," he said. "Then why'd you..."
"Look! He just makes me wonder sometimes, alright?!" he yelled.

"I'm sorry," I apologized with a hurt look on my face. "I just wanted to know, what's weird about him?" I asked.
He stared at me for a moment then got up. "Look, lets just go to the woods, alright?" He held out
his hand and pulled me up. "Okay" I said. Now we were almost to the woods. Finally!

End of chapter 3.

Chapter 4 The river

Now me and Tony were walking in the forest. It's a really beautiful place. There are beautiful tall
trees all over the place. We where walking around when Tony noticed something and suddenly ran off.
"Hey! Where do you think you're going?!" I yelled. He didn't even look back, just kept running. "Well, aren't you special!" I yelled.
I sat down to wait for him, thinking it would only be a minute. I just sat there and waited. He didn't come back.

Well! Isn't he smart?! I thought sarcastically. I got up to go looking for him. When I noticed the sound of nearby water,
I started going in that direction. I walked up to a river to find Tony stupidly walking along the edge of it.
"Tony!" I exclaimed. He looked and saw me, then, he just kept on walking. "Don't you know you could fall down there?!" I yelled.
"Just shut up already! I know what I'm doing." he said. "No you don't! Get back over here!" I yelled. He didn't come back.

I really didn't want to have to walk over there and get him. The edge that he was walking on had trees to the left and the
edge of the river to the right. I started walking on the edge of it towards him to try and get him to come back.
Thinking I wouldn't slip, I held on to the trees to keep my balance. I was really anxious about walking here,
but who wouldn't be? Walking here was a stupid thing to do. Tony looked back and saw me trying to get to him.
"Get back over there!" he yelled. "You'll slip if you're not careful!"

"I came to try and get you to go back!" I yelled angrily. "Fine! I'll go back!" he exclaimed. We started to
walk back when I began to look down at the river. It would be a big drop if I fell down there.

When we were almost back, I suddenly started slipping.
"Ahhh!" I exclaimed in horror when my feet started slipping down.. Tony reached out and grabbed
my hand and a tree with the other. "Hold on!" he said. He pulled me back up and I regained my balance.

"You alright now? he asked. "Yeah, I think so," I answered. "Lets just get back already."
We got back and I sat down in the grass. He did the same.

I looked down at the river. It's pretty, when you're not falling down it.
Then I noticed there was mud all over the soles of my shoes.
"Look at my shoes! They're covered in mud!" I exclaimed. I scowled at him.

"Well don't look at me! It's not like I made you slip," he said. "But you're the reason I went over there!" I said.
"Those are some dirty shoes," he said. Way to state the obvious, I thought. "Well, they wouldn't be if it weren't for you!" I said accusingly.
"It's not like you can't wash them," he pointed out. Come to think of it, he's got a good point, that's a first!
I started getting up.

"Where are you going?" he asked. "Back in the woods. I have to get back home to wash my shoes," I answered.
He looked disappointed. We hadn't been here for long and I think he did wanna hang out more.
This part of the forest looked unfamiliar to me. "I hope you know your way out of he," he said.
I stopped walking and looked around. Come to think of it, I really don't know this part of the woods!
That's when it hit me, we really are lost! I thought.

End of chapter 4.

Chapter 5 The approaching storm

I'm going through the woods now, looking for the path we were on when we first came in.
It was really windy outside today. If only I could remember where I was when I waited for
Tony after he'd ran off. I remember seeing some yellow berries.

Maybe I could
look for them to find out where I was. While we walk I scan the area. Turns out there
are yellow berries all over the place. Man! How can I find out where we were?!
"You know, this is really all your fault," I say to Tony. "What's my fault?" he asks innocently.
"Gee, I have no idea!" I said sarcastically. "Eh, we'll find a way out. We're not that lost."

We kept walking. He knows that's not true. The wind is blowing hard and there's know
way to recognise were we'd been before, the wind was blowing much to hard for that.
For all I know, the path we'd been on could be buried in leaves. Tony finds a
stick and picks is up. "So, what's that for, genius?" I ask rolling my eyes.

He starts dragging it along the ground as we walk. "It's just to know where we've been."
"That's not good enough! I exclaim. The dust will just blow the soil out of place,
and so it won't help at all to know where we've been. I said coldly.
Tony puts the stick down and angrily mumbles something to himself.
"What?!" I ask. "Uh, nothing," he said.

We walked around for what seemed like an hour. "Okay, I'm way to tired to walk anymore.
Can't we take a break?" I looked only to find out that Tony wasn't listening at all!
Just who does he think he is?! "HEY!" I exclaimed. He was staring up at a huge tree.
I glared at him when I noticed that. "What do you think you're doing?!" I yelled.
He was climbing up a tree. "Do you not realize it's windy?! You could fall!" I exclaimed
He was almost all the way up there now. "What's the point in going up there anyway?" I asked.
"To look for the river," he answered with a sigh.

All of a sudden it started getting dark out with all the clouds coming while the wind was picking up.
"Hey!" Tony exclaimed. "I can see the river from here!"
"Good. Now could you please get down from there?" I said exasperated.
Tony started climbing down now. The sky started getting very dark, as if a huge storm were coming,
and it probably was. As Tony climbed down it started to drip. By the time he got down it was already raining.

After he'd gotten down, we looked up at the tree. There were so many leaves all over it.
The tree was swaying in the wind like crazy, as if it could fall at any moment.
"Come on! We have to find some place that's safe!" Tony said.
With that we ran, trying to find some place, somewhere, that would be safe from the falling trees that surrounded us.
