Estelle is a noble girl who was the Anastasia of aristocracy. With close ties to the Queen through trade and ownership of land in the Commonwealth of Australia, India, and Canada, Estelle was most likely going to have her life planned out for her - to marry a rich noble man, even possibly into the royal family if she could work at it far enough. However, after a trade gone awry, the Beaumonts' fell victim to a family massacre which left both of her parents dead, her eldest sister and two brothers, leaving her and her younger sister alive. Unfortunately, her younger sister died in care and it looked like Estelle would follow too, until she pulled through. Seeing as a girl of such a young age was unable to lead a company, the company and it's branches were passed onto one of the Queen's closest confidants hands. It seemed as if she was swept under the rug from there on, of no use to anyone, until she found solace in the Phantomhives'.

Estelle is a pale and fragile girl, almost like a china doll, and not just in terms of looks; she's very sensitive to criticism and finds it hard to trust people. She feels horribly uncomfortable when put on the spot for things, so tries to evade trouble as much as she can, even if 99% of the time, she is not the root of it. When she is angry, however, she can be found to be stubborn and headstrong in her views, speaking from the heart. She is logical in her choices and enjoys chess, one of the few games that injects emotion into her. She is often too anxious to confront people sometimes and can be perceived as cold, which is never a good thing for a 'lady'. Even if she seems placid now, she is hell bent on getting revenge one day; something that has shown that her and the tragic young lord Ciel Phantomhive alike.

Clara was born into a family who has served noble families for at least a century. The one main family that they have been loyal to were the Noble House of Phantomhive. Her grandfather, Tanaka, served under the Phantomhive's ever since she could remember. Her mother, Tanaka's daughter, did not want to continue the family business by being a Maid. She loved the Phantomhives, since she grew up with them, but it was just not what she felt like she was meant to do. Instead, she married a tailor named Richard Bellamy. He was an apprentice under one of the most esteemed tailors throughout England, having created dresses and suits for both the Queen and nobles everywhere. Vincent Phantomhive heard and hired Richard to be their personal tailor, which he right away agreed.
It had not been long that the two married and Clara came along. She basically grew up in the Phantomhive Manor. They felt like family since they were such nice people. She knew that Tanaka greatly respected them. There was nothing bad to them. She loved them all, especially Madame Red, who spoiled her more than her own mother did.
Seven years later, Ciel was born, and Clara came to love the little boy like a brother. She'd always ask to go and play with Ciel. For years, they were just the best of friends. A little brother. A loving family. Everything was perfect for Clara. That is, until five years later....
Clara's mother was diagnosed with leukemia and died a week later. There was nothing that could have been done. It was only Clara and her father left. However, fate was cruel to Clara, snatching her father away from her when a storm had erupted throughout the small town they lived in, and a tree fell onto the house, killing her father instantaneously. 13 year old Clara was all alone.
Since she had no one but Tanaka left, the old man took her in, along with Vincent and Rachel's blessing for allowing he to live there with him. They were such nice people, and Ciel was happy to have someone else other than Lizzy and his aunt to play with him.
Living there came with a small price. Clara was to help Tanaka out with keeping the house clean. Luckily, she already knew how to sew clothes, sheets, clean, and maintain a small area. The house was huge, so she would have to get used to keeping the place clean. From there, her life as a Maid for the Phantomhive Manor began.
